We are happy to inform you that we are expanding our service to you in that we will now be matching relevant practitioners, where dates of birth are provided, against the General Services Administration’s Excluded Persons List System (EPLS).
Since last fall, we have communicated to districts the importance of providing names and dates of birth to MSB™ for practitioners who are involved in any way with the Medicaid process, including those practitioners who provide Medicaid reimbursable services and those who authorize/refer Medicaid reimbursable services. (“Practitioners” are defined as those involved in direct patient [student] care, indirect patient [student] care, administrative and management services in relation to Medicaid reimbursements). Providing this information to MSB allows MSB to in turn provide information to you as to whether or not any practitioners involved with the Medicaid process are potentially found on the US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE), as well as the EPLS list. We also request that Special Education Directors provide their dates of birth as managing employees for this same purpose.
If you do not want us to check practitioners and Directors against these two lists, please notify us in writing. You can send your notifications to Jen Surina.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your Program Specialist.
